“I have swimming coursing through my veins, growing up right on the coast at Spurn Head one the bleakest parts of the UK the sea became my second home. I was late taking to sport but with the inspiration and help of some great people. I became a junior triathlete at 16, enjoying hockey and rugby as a teenager until kayaking and climbing took over.
Developing skills as a multiple discipline coach I was fortunate to be able to introduce many thousands of children to outdoor pursuits in London and the South of England. I came to Northallerton in 1995 joined the swimming club the same year.
Feeling somewhat old in 2007 when my daughter joined the club I felt it was time to put something back in to the club. I remain passionate about promoting Northallerton swimming club and I will endeavour to maintain the club as a excellent facility offering an opportunity for any young swimmers in a modern challenging world to gain self confidence, social awareness, build friendships and above all become fit, fast whilst having fun.”
