Sponsor a Trophy

As we head towards our club championships it seems fit to address a long standing issue within the presentation evening which is no trophies for certain events.

The following table demonstrates the events are up for sponsorship/donations to cover. We are looking at buying the trophies in bulk by the end round 1 of the club championships but only for events that can be sponsored. It would be great to ensure the history of the club can be preserved for years to come like many trophies in the clubs possession (some have been around since year 1 back in 1962!)

We would like member to try and source sponsorship, or if you feel like it sponsor yourself, for a shield for the event, or a cup as listed below, if you could please let me know for what event you would like and what would you would like the plaque to say.

  1. Simply send me an email to confirm no one else has sponsored your event
  2. Complete a cheque or get one given by a sponsor for ‘Northallerton ASC’ to the amount of the shields/cups you would like to get
  3. Post the cheque in an envelope in the club post box by 9th October to secure your trophy for presentation evening
  4. Orders will then be collated and sent off by the club to gain access to free delivery in time for the presentation evening (25th November)
Shields will cost £40 and pictured below and stand 32cm tall.

They will be engraved on the top ribbon with the sponsor message i.e. The Greg Ient Trophy and the event on the base

New Layout

  • Teaspoon15_22This year the BAGCAT system will be deployed onto the club championships for 9yrs+ events to calculate the club champions. This system compares times from FINA points tables to allow for swimmers to utilise their best score from the following categories
    • Best Sprint – 50m any stroke
    • 100’s – 100m any stroke
    • Form – 200m back, breast or fly
    • Distance – 200m free
    • Individual Medley– 100m, 200m IM
  • This will prevent swimmers from over competing and will provide an edge of excitement as points won’t be able to be released until the end of the 4th round.
  • In addition all age groups 9/10yrs and above can now compete in 50,100 and 200 of each stroke to allow for them to access county level competition should they achieve the times or need to have an opportunity.
  • Those events for the 8yrs+U will remain points scored with finals (not 100IM) and all other events will be Heat Declared Winner (HDW). 9/10 year old swimmers will still have the option of swimming 25m races if they are not yet confident with a 50m swim.Teaspoon15_8
  • The Dash will remain open to all swimmers and a final will take place. Junior otter places will be drawn from the 25m races available for age groups.
  • The club will also be opening up a sponsorship scheme to gain new trophies for the club for the new events and also for where trophies are missing. Details of this will be released over summer. All trophies must be returned by the end of September 2016 to allow for a full audit to be conducted of what we need.
  • To cover the increased cost of pool hire and licensing of our club championships there will be a £1 entrance fee on all events.
