The below information is being circulated by Hambleton District council today regarding the next stage of closures for the PSDS works at the centre. This unfortunately has an impact for NASC between Saturday 2 July to Sunday 10 July inclusive….
I am working with Bedale Leisure Centre today to find alternative training, currently we are looking at the following set up….
- Saturday 2nd NLC Closes
- Sunday 3rd 1-5pm @ BLC
- Monday 4th Dryside at NSSFC
- Tuesday 5th No changes @ BLC
- Wednesday 6th Dryside at NSSFC
- Thursday 7th No changes @ BLC
- Friday 8th 7-9pm @ BLC
- Saturday 9th 1-5pm @ BLC
- Sunday 10th will remain as our time trials at BLC.
- Monday 11th return to NLC
This is subject to change and confirmation. Although this is not ideal, it does offer us scope to practice starts and turns with all groups at Bedale. The timings for each squad will be circulated once I have recieved confirmation from BLC about the arrangements.
Should NLC become available again earlier than expected, we will assess what sessions can start back at the centre.
Regards,
Greg
Final Stage of Carbon Saving Works
Installation of a carbon saving system at Northallerton Leisure Centre is now well underway as part of the government funded PSDS (Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme).
As part of these works, the pool and sauna will be closed from Saturday 2 July to Sunday 10 July inclusive, reopening on Monday 11 July. During this period there will be no heating or hot water across the centre.
There will also be a full closure of the centre for one day on Monday 4 July. Please note that 24/7 gym access will be unavailable on the evenings of Sunday 3 and Monday 4 July. It will reopen on the evening Tuesday 5 July.
All works will be complete and the leisure centre fully reopen on Monday 11 July.
This will be the final step in the carbon and energy saving works at Northallerton. The running of leisure centres requires significant energy consumption, this results in high Co2 emissions. Upon completion of the works, Northallerton Leisure Centre will no longer use gas a source of energy, instead 100% of the energy used at the centre will be electricity. This shift in energy supply will provide an impressive 50% carbon saving, which is really great news for the environment and the sustainability of the centre.
